Congregation Nevei Kodesh, 1925 Glenwood Dr, Boulder, CO 80304, USA
https://www.oxytocinboulder.com/event-details-registration/mochi-tea-and-chi
“We will be sharing a meditative movement-based practice that combines elements of traditional martial arts, the flow of jazz dance, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques to promote physical and mental wellbeing by harmonizing the internal energy.
Oxytocin co-founder Dr. Genie has trained in over 25 different styles of martial arts and will be leading the group through a simple introduction to this Chi building practice. It is a simple gentle series of movements that is both elevating and grounding and focuses on opening and connecting the heart while clearing the mind and relaxing the nervous system. Following this, we’ll drop into a group-based tea ceremony, and finish with a delicious celebration of traditional Japanese mochi (vegan and gluten-free). Yay!
Wear moveable comfortable clothing and you may want to bring a notebook to track insights and note the movements.”

AI for Good: Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group
AI for Good: Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group
December 9, 2024 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Roser ATLAS Center, 1125 18th St, Boulder, CO 80309, USA
https://www.meetup.com/rmaiig/events/304708982/
“The Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) will host an in-person meeting in Boulder on Monday, December 9th, at 6:00 pm MT on “AI for Good.”
These days, anyone keeping up with artificial intelligence will notice a newsfeed full of stories about the challenges and risks associated with this rapidly evolving technology. While it’s crucial to address these concerns, it’s just as important to highlight the many positive outcomes AI innovation is delivering. That’s why RMAIIG is focusing on some of the exciting and beneficial ways AI is making a difference.
We are pleased to announce that Phil Nugent is organizing and facilitating the meeting. In addition to his work developing a best-of-both-worlds approach to using AI in digital marketing, Phil is the founder and editor-in-chief of Colorado AI News. In this role, he is always looking for possible stories about Colorado’s AI experts and entrepreneurs, not to mention inspiring examples of “AI for Good.”
“AI for Good” CU Boulder: In-person ATLAS building (Room 100) 1125 18th St, Boulder, CO 80309 Mon, Dec. 9th 6:00 – 8:00 PM MT – Meeting 5:30 PM Free Pizza (Thanks to our sponsor, Range Ventures!)
Our first two speakers, Anne Wintemute and Steven Nichols, are the co-founders of the Denver-based startup Aimee Says. They are on a mission to support the millions of people who are affected by domestic abuse each year, and their innovative, AI-driven app serves as a companion, helping victims process their experiences, seek safety, and prepare for legal proceedings. In less than a year, Aimee Says has grown to support tens of thousands of victims across 95 countries.
In their presentation, Anne and Steven will share their journey as founders of an impact-driven company, detailing how their technology and business evolved over the first year — from a simple prototype to an MVP, and ultimately, a full release. They’ll discuss the unique technology challenges posed by their user population, the critical need to provide unwavering support to these users, and their ambitious vision for the future. AI represents a revolutionary breakthrough in supporting domestic violence victims, and Anne and Steven will explore how Aimee Says leverages this transformative technology to make a profound difference in the world.
Our next two speakers, Product Manager Matt Hron and Director of Technology Matt Morrissette, are core members of the leadership team of Wildlife Protection Solutions, based in Golden. WPS is an international nonprofit whose mission is to help save endangered species and ecosystems, and the company’s AI-assisted systems are a key element in helping it achieve its goals.
Matt Hron and Matt Morrissette will discuss the mission of WPS, its challenges and successes, and how AI is being used to monitor animals and wildlife threats around the world in real time. In a nutshell, AI is helping to bring efficiencies that maximize the impact of the limited resources of wildlife conservation organizations.
Our final speaker, Adrian Chernoff, is the CEO of Ojje, a Boulder-based startup redefining children’s literacy education. Trained as an engineer and holder of 91 awarded patents, Adrian has delivered transformative innovations across a host of fascinating roles at NASA, General Motors, Disney Imagineering, and Johnson & Johnson.
Founded just a year ago, Ojje is tackling the literacy challenge in the U.S., where 67% of fifth grade students lack reading proficiency. Ojje’s Literacy Learning System is an AI-powered platform offering an industry-first, story-driven user experience that seamlessly combines cutting-edge technology with an intuitive and engaging interface to profoundly impact how children learn to read and improve literacy outcomes.
Thanks to our pizza sponsor! Range Ventures is Colorado’s early-stage VC, backing the state’s most ambitious founders to build the next generation of category-defining companies.
