Jack’s Solar Garden is the premier agrivoltaics research facility in the U.S. Agrivoltaics is the combination of solar photovoltaics with agriculture as a means to improve land stewardship and increase renewable energy production, while maintaining viable farm land. Our small nonprofit organisation, The Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center (CALC) hosts regular tours and events both at Jack’s Solar Garden, and online. 250 stylish, bad ass peeps have attended each of our 3 Boulder Swap & Shops so we’re bringing everyone’s fave event back for Fall 2024 and this year we’re adding a Kid’s Clothing section AND a Halloween Costume section.

On October 13th from 11-2pm, you have the opportunity to buy or sell your / your kids’ clothes in our pop-up consignment shop, shop The Clothing Cycle’s shop, or donate clothes to our FREE* swap section.

*Financial Donations are however welcome – all go toward furthering The Clothing Cycle’s mission and ensuring clothes don’t end up in landfill.

Leading up to the election, the Boulder Public Library invites all community members to rediscover the history, significance and joy of voting in our country through our fall Democracy Series. From interactive storytimes to insightful workshops, this engaging series will foster community connections as we navigate this election year together

What do you want your life to look like in a year?
Do you have a Big Dream that’s been nagging at you? Something that might even feel big, scary, or too outside the box?
Led by Diana Sabreen of The Big Dream, this workshop will help you clarify that little thing that’s been calling to you, look at what’s holding you back, and guide you in taking the first step towards creating your vision. Stay after the workshop to dance it into being with Junkyard’s monthly ecstatic dance event! 

When we are true to our wildest and most creative ideas, we can sustain momentum through challenges, and create the lives, communities, and the world we want to be living in.

Join for the both the workshop and the dance, or feel free to join for just one!

As Halloween season approaches and the spirits come out to play, we dress up in costumes of what we could be – whether that’s fairy princesses, ghosts or ketchup bottles. At Dance and Dream, we invite you to try on the next version of yourself. Who do you need to become to create the life you want to be living? Which parts of you are thriving and which parts can be let go?

Though absolutely not required, we invite you to dress as the next version of yourself… are they sparkly, earth toned, in a business suit or a tutu? All of you is welcome here.

Ecstatic Dance, led by Ambra Lyons and Beacon is a judgement-free safe space to dance, wiggle, or just lay on the floor. This is an alcohol-free dance party that encourages you to dance like no one is watching.  With a playful, embodied music wave created in the 5-rhythms style, the tunes will move you through an emotional journey through “Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.”  Come ride the wave up and then back down again.

Join us for a tour of Friends Farm, a two acre biodynamic vegetable and herb farm located at Nyland Cohousing. We will discuss our regenerative practices, the history and context of our land and how that effects our management decisions. We will talk about the challenges and opportunities of growing in our climate, the plants adapted to it and some tips and tricks of the trade. We will leave ample time to answer all your farm and garden questions. The tour will be followed by optional volunteering time where you can get some hands on experience prepping the farm for the end of the season.Bring some water and decent shoes. We will have samples and veggies available to purchase.

This is for anyone interested in learning more or getting involved in Regenerative farming. Those who want the inside scoop of the nitty gritty of the work, the particularities of working in our climate, and the opportunities and hurdles of working within the context of our existing food system.

Jeff & Paige join forces with Boulder’s Friends School to offer a free, community kids’ concert in the spacious backyard of their lovely East Boulder campus. Set up your picnic blanket or low camp chairs on the lawn and enjoy an hourlong science and nature-themed kids’ show complete with original music, educational skits, quick costume changes and loads of audience participation. Feel free to pack a picnic as well and stick around to munch and enjoy Friends incredible playground!*This event is open to absolutely everyone. Friends wants to offer a community event so let’s enjoy their hospitality. It’s an excellent venue for a fall J&P show!*Registration is not required to attend.*In the event of inclement weather the concert will be moved inside the Friends School gym.
